C.M. Punk Discusses His Straight Edge Lifestyle, His Feud With Chris Jericho & More

Yesterday, WWE champion C.M. Punk was interviewed on CBS in Atlanta. During the discussion, Punk talked about; his straight edge lifestyle, his feud with Chris Jericho and more. Here are some of the highlights:

On what it feels like being WWE champion after more than a decade of hard work: "Mission accomplished. But there's still a lot of work to do. My life has always been about goals. I set small goals for myself and you work your way towards those and you accomplish the big ones. There's still stuff I have to do.

"Being the champ is awesome. I get to reach a lot of people, spread my messages straight edge and P.M.A. (Positive Mental Attitude). All kinds of stuff that I want to get out there to the kids. On my way to bigger and better things hopefully."

On why he lives a straight edge lifestyle: "I was born that way. I feel strongly about it. I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't do drugs. I'm not necessarily preachy about it, but if there's a kid that can take away (from me) that you don't have to be peer-pressured into drinking to fit in or be successful; mission accomplished.

On Chris Jericho and how their feud has developed: "I love it. I love mind games. I think it adds a little bit of a personal slant to our match. If it's just, 'I'm going to beat you up. No, I'm the best. No, I'm the best.' It can be a little boring.

"... It is what it is. Chris Jericho is one of those guys that thinks he can; leave wrestling and try to go on to greener pastures, fails at doing a litany of other things and then come back and still be successful at wrestling. But then there's guys like me who have filled the void he left. He can try to get back on top of the mountain, but he's got to go through me."
