» Rey Mysterio is said to be on the verge of signing a deal with WWE, or has already done so, reports prowrestling.NET. WWE offered him a five-deal deal, but Mysterio opted for three. Last week, one source described his signing as "imminent." Mysterio also had talks with the AAA promotion out of Mexico. They were offering him a three-movie deal as they had an idea to make Mysterio a modern day version of El Santo - who was a movie star in Mexico as well as a legendary wrestler. During negotiations, Mysterio told WWE officials that he wants to be considered for a movie role with WWE Films. WWE also has plans to release a Mysterio autobiography.

» Ric Flair, who was originally scheduled to receive the NWA Hall of Fame award alongside a number of other former NWA stars back in June will finally be receiving the award at the same October 4th NWA show in Robstown, Texas. "I'm happy that we are able to present our Hall of Fame honor to Ric in person. We were worried that he would never be able to display our medal with the rest of his accolades. It also pleases me to know that Ric is very enthusiastic to accept it. I'd also like to thank the Gillespie Agency for their cooperation in making this presentation a reality," said NWA Executive Director Robert K. Trobich. Flair was originally scheduled to attend the June event, but WWE prevented it from happening.

» Former WWE Diva Joy Giovanni has resurfaced. She appeared on the Trash Talking Radio show last night. Giovanni was released from WWE on July 6, 2005 during a talent purge.
