- As posted earlier, there is rather serious talks and discussion within WWE as what to do with John Cena when he returns from injury this year. It's not that much of a spoken thing, but it's understood that Cena isn't connecting with the entire WWE audience like officials have wanted him to. They wanted him to connect on a level like Steve Austin or The Rock, where everyone was into his character.

There is talk of altering Cena's character when he returns, in some form or fashion. An idea of turning Cena heel has been tossed around but one of the bad sides to that is the loss of merchandise sales, which Cena brings in a lot because of the demo he appeals the most to. As much as WWE has tried to make Cena the face of the company, they realize he is not connecting like they wanted and the belief is we could see a different side of Cena when he returns, although maybe not full-fledged heel.
