The release of referee Wes Adams has come as a surprise to a lot of people, but one of the possible reasons for his firing could be the botched ending on ECW last Tuesday. If you were paying close attention you'll notice that Adams made the count at the wrong moment. The reactions of all the wrestlers and announcers gave away that it wasn't supposed to happen. It occurred after hardy hit a top rope side effect on Morrison and waited several seconds before even making the cover.

Although this isn't really a releasable mistake, the feeling is that even the smallest reasonings can be made during this cost cutting phase. It seems Adams was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
