Former NWA star Magnum T.A. (real name Terry Allen) was backstage at last week's SmackDown/ECW taping in Charlotte. Allen recently had back surgery and needed crutches to get around backstage.

Matt Hardy will be throwing out the first pitch at the August 10th Mets baseball game. He is also scheduled to do an autograph session at the event.

WWE.com has updated its pay-per-view calendar and, according to the calendar, the date of the 2009 Royal Rumble is Sunday, January 25th. During the week prior to WrestleMania 24, mailers and newspaper ads that WWE sent out had January 29th, a Thursday, listed as the Rumble's date. (Thanks to Devin Cutting)

The backstage report on Randy Orton's first child born last week is that she looks exactly like his wife Samantha. Orton and his wife welcomed, Alanna Marie Orton, an eight-pound ten-ounce girl, on July 12, 2008.
